Rotary Vacuum Drum Filter
Continuous dewatering of industrial slurries at 2 to 40 wt% solids.
Five machine families, designed, fabricated and rubber lined in Chennai. Every machine is sized against your slurry rather than picked off a standard list — which is why the tables on these pages give you the geometry and leave the duty to a test.
Continuous dewatering of industrial slurries at 2 to 40 wt% solids.
Where the duty is high tonnage and cake washing is not critical, a disc filter gives three to four times the filtration area of a drum filter on the same footprint.
When the product is in the cake and the wash has to be near-perfect, a horizontal belt filter is the only type that does it properly.
Gravity thickening and clarification for process and effluent duty.
Detention-type slakers that convert quicklime to a stable milk-of-lime slurry, complete with grit removal and vapour scrubbing, delivered as a single skid that lands on a plinth and runs..
| If this is your problem | This is usually the machine |
|---|---|
| The cake has to be washed properly — soluble losses matter, or the product is in the cake | Horizontal vacuum belt filter. Flat cake and true counter-current washing beat every other type. |
| High tonnage, washing not critical — concentrate or pulp thickening | Rotary vacuum disc filter. Both faces of every disc filter, so area per square metre of floor is three to four times a drum. |
| General continuous filtration, or anything needing precoat polishing | Rotary vacuum drum filter. The most adaptable of the three, and the only one that takes a precoat knife. |
| Solids need settling, not filtering — clarify an overflow or thicken an underflow | Thickener or clarifier. Filtration is the wrong tool and a far more expensive one. |
| You need milk of lime for pH correction or FGD | Detention lime slaker, skid mounted. |
We will tell you when it is not us. If a centrifuge or a filter press is the right machine for your duty, we will say so. A wrong machine sold once costs more than a right machine not sold.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Slurry | What it is, and what is abrasive or corrosive in it |
| Solids concentration | wt % in the feed |
| Throughput | Dry solids per hour, or slurry m³/h |
| Cake requirement | Target moisture, and whether it must be washed |
| Temperature and pH | Operating range, not just nominal |
| Materials | Anything already proven, or forbidden, in your plant |
