Industries served
The same five machines, applied to very different slurries. What changes between them is materials, wash arrangement and how hard the machine is driven — which is why a machine built for brine and a machine built for gypsum look alike and share almost no wetted parts.
| Industry | Typical duties |
|---|---|
| Chemical and petrochemical | Sodium sulphate, soda ash, pigments, precipitated calcium carbonate, catalyst recovery |
| Chlor-alkali and soda ash | Brine clarification, salt recovery, bicarbonate filtration |
| Mineral processing | Concentrate dewatering, tailings, clay, coal fines |
| Fertiliser and phosphoric acid | Gypsum filtration and counter-current washing |
| Pulp and paper | Brown stock washing, lime mud, stock thickening |
| Water and wastewater | Primary and secondary clarification, sludge thickening, lime dosing for pH correction |
| Sugar, starch and food | Carbonatation, starch dewatering, juice clarification |
| Pharmaceutical and fine chemical | Crystalline intermediates, precoat polishing |
Brine and chlor-alkali
Saturated brine at pH extremes destroys ordinary steel. Mild steel rubber lined underwater parts, rubber-lined vats and SS 316L wetted surfaces are the standard Filcare build for this service, not an option — and rubber lining is done in our own works, which most Indian fabricators sub-contract and most importers will not quote at all.
Phosphoric acid and gypsum
The classic horizontal belt filter duty: large area, aggressive liquor, and a wash that has to recover almost all of the P₂O₅. Counter-current washing on a flat cake is the only arrangement that gets there, and the belt, deck and nozzles are all wear parts we make.
